During the race, eat an energy gel every 30 minutes. Gels are the consistency of cake frosting so they go down fast and taste great. They're easily digested and provide lasting energy. And, they come in small foil packets easily carried in a jersey pocket. To eat, just tear the top and squeeze. Remember to eat before you feel like it’s needed, too. If you wait, it might be too late and you’ll begin to weaken and slow.
